Aikido

Lakes Aikido has three main instructors:

  • Chief instructor George Forbes Sensei (6th Dan)

  • Senior instructor Pauline Forbes Sensei (3rd Dan)

  • Senior instructor Walt Nayman Sensei (2nd Dan)

All Lakes Aikido instructors are C.R.B. (Criminal Records Bureau) checked.

George Forbes Sensei

The founder and president of Shobu Aikido U.K., Mr Forbes is committed to the cultivation of relationships within the Shobu Federation and other federations and practitioners.

Mr Forbes teaches two classes per week at the Lakes Aikido Club, and regular courses throughout the country for Shobu Aikido U.K..

As a student of Aikido, Mr Forbes has been practising for over 30 years and has travelled throughout the world studying with a variety of Shihan (Master teacher).

Pauline Forbes Sensei

In October 1999, and under the guidance of Mrs Forbes, a children's class for 7-16 year olds was started. It has now grown to over 40 students.

Mrs Forbes is actively involved in the development of Shobu Aikido U.K. and regularly provides technical advice on courses regarding body dynamics and injuries.

Mrs Forbes also teaches Yoga and is a qualified physiotherapist.

Walt Nayman Sensei

Mr Nayman has been studying Aikido for over 15 years and has his own dojo in Ulverston-in-Furness.

He has been studying under the guidance of George Forbes Sensei for many years.

Mr Nayman is currently Child Protection Officer for Shobu Aikido U.K..
