Lakes Aikido practises traditional "Honbu Style" Aikido.
The principle of Aikido is of conservation of energy and controlling an opponent by up ending their body's axis and making them revolve around yours.
It has been stated that in order to effectively be adept in Aikido you have to be able to lift up to 3 ounces in weight. This means that Aikido is available to anyone over the age of eight, providing they have freedom of movement.
Lakes Aikido was established in 1883 and is a non-profit making club.
We are a member of Shobu Aikido U.K.
