Aikido

Welcome to the Lakes Aikido website

Lakes Aikido practises traditional "Honbu Style" Aikido.

The principle of Aikido is of conservation of energy and controlling an opponent by up ending their body's axis and making them revolve around yours.

In order to be effective in Aikido you have to be able to lift up to 3 ounces in weight. This means that Aikido is available to anyone, providing they have freedom of movement.

Lakes Aikido was established in 2000 and is a non-profit making club.

We are members of Shobu Aikido U.K. and Takemusu Aikido Intercontinental.
